ahk2chan Recommend Airline Limousine (Toronto)

I have used a few different taxi and limousine companies, and I can tell you a few horror stories…  Once I have ordered a taxi for 6:15 am, and I waited for about 5 minutes, I called the company.  They told me that there was no such order, even after I gave them the confirmation number!  So too bad, Mom got dressed in 1 minute and drove me off to the airport.  Thanks Mom!  Next…

WebSphere Commerce v6.0 Struts Configuration

Here is what I’ve got from WebSphere Commerce Info Center about Struts Configuration.

  • The configuration is stored in the file struts-config.xml file. (in WEB-INF)
  • The property value for “https” , “authenticate” , “credentialsAccepted” are WebSphere Commerce specific properties.

Everything is about Outsource

Here is an article from WSJ which Kwong forwarded me to read (you think that I am the kind of person who will search for interesting articles to read? yeah right…): Outsourcing Your Life

We have been discussing about these big corporation shifting their powerhouses to India (offshore outsourcing), and I have been expressing concern that within 5 years, the work that we are currently doing can be easily substituted by a offshore workforce.

Resell MP3 from Authorized Reseller

I was talking to my Info Broker about re-selling songs purchased from authorized seller. Here is some information that he got for me:

ITunes Store Terms of Services

  • Basically in section 9, it states that what you’ve got is only for noncommercial use. So I guess re-selling the song is classified as commercial activity.

Is MP3 ringtone download Legal?

I have been looking for information about mp3 ringtone.  I know that downloading music online is illegal (except from authorized resellers like itunes).  However about mp3 ringtone (like a 15 seconds extract of a song), do we need to purchase it from authorized reseller?

Here is the answer from US government copyright law office.   Basically it states that mp3 ringtone (an extract from a copyrighted song) is also protected by the copyright law for the song.  So selling by a non-authorized reseller or downloading it from non-authorized reseller is illegal.
