A common Comment among iPhone Reviews on Various Sites

I have been following iPhone news pretty closely these days… and finally it is out! I have read a few reviews about the phone itself, and I’ve found a common comment about the phone. Here it is (I’ve got this quote from CNet’s iPhone Review:

  • The bottom line: Despite some important missing features, a slow data network, and call quality that doesn’t always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated cell phone and MP3 player.”

Reading Stories to my Babies

I was reading a story to my babies last night (that doesn’t really happen often), and now I can understand why Winnie enjoy doing so. It is because when you see them laughing so hard at your story, you realize how much fun they are having!

Find and Display Special Characters in Windows

If there are special characters that you want to type but you don’t know the key sequence of the character, here is what you can do in Windows:

  1. Go to Start -> Run…
  2. Type in “charmap”
  3. A “character map” will be displayed and you can find out which character you want. It also displays the special key sequence of how you can type out the character without bring up the map.

Pretty handy!

iPhone Count Down… 3 more days before Launch!

Here is an article I have read yet about iPhone. I am actually interested more interested in the statistics given in the article, rather than the phone itself…

  • “More than 6 in 10 Americans are aware the iPhone is coming – thanks to a major TV ad blitz – and as many as 19 million say they want one, according to a survey by cellphone research company M:Metrics.”
  • “… it plans to sell 10 million units by the end of next year (2008).”
  • “In five years, Apple has sold 100 million iPods.”

Will I get an iPhone myself? I don’t think so… since I am more a geeky guy and the technology behind iPhone, is pre-historic (maybe except the touch screen).

This is what I am missing (and maybe you will too)

I was listening to my CD (Dance with my Father – Luther Vandross) when I am driving… and I think this song Buy Me A Rose is what I am missing these days. When you find your important one, you should pay more attention :)

Game Rating, Stores and Consoles

Here are some interesting facts that I’ve extracted from a Yahoo article Game Suspension could boost interest:

  • “… a preliminary “Adults Only” rating in the United States from the industry’s self-governed ratings body, the Entertainment Software Rating Board, restricting sales to customers 18 and older.”
  • “More importantly, such titles aren’t stocked by large retailers such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and all three console makers — Microsoft Corp., Nintendo and Sony — do not allow “AO” games on their systems.”
  • “… could appeal the rating or craft a toned-down version that meets the less-stringent “Mature” rating for players 17 and older.”

About iPhone Touch Screen and More Cell Phone Statistics

Here is an article that I have read about iPhone and other cell phone technology statistics. Here are some highlights:

  • “Shipments of this advanced strain of touch screens are projected to jump from fewer than 200,000 units in 2006 to more than 21 million units by 2012.”
  • “About 38 million handsets, or about 4 percent of all mobile phones shipped in 2006, had touch-screen features — a figure that will grow to 90 million units by 2012, iSuppli projected.”

One Down (Toronto Zoo) Strollerless, a lot more to come!

We went to The Metro Toronto Zoo yesterday, and the babies are having a lot of fun. We stayed a bit in the “water park” and they loved it. The water park is nothing compared to the ones in Niagara Falls but I guess as long as there is water splashing out, they are happy.

It is the first time we went to zoo without taking the stroller and the babies are pretty good. They pretty much walked all through except asking me hold them once in a while. :) Good exercise for them!

Oh also Brandon got to ride a camel too :)
